Becoming Approachable {A Guest Post}

I may have made a comment that got me in trouble. Or I may have made a comment that got me out of trouble. I’m still trying to decide.

All I know is that when Renee Johnson Fisher asked me to write a guest post about being approachable, I kind of freaked out. See, I don’t consider myself an authority on the subject.

At.

All.

So I thought of all the reasons I was unqualified to write this post, but then I thought maybe… just maybe… my disqualifications are actually qualifications in disguise.

Because maybe the person who is naturally approachable can’t write a post that resonates with the rest of us.

And maybe my story will encourage you on your journey of becoming approachable.

  1. I honestly don’t know why you think you’re NOT approachable, but maybe that’s why my ignorance was God’s way of pushing you out of your comfort zone. Sometimes what we think of ourselves isn’t true versus what God thinks of us and how others view us. HUGS!

    • Renee,
      I know a couple of guys who might be willing to argue that fact with you. ;)

      All I can say is that you’ve clearly never met me in person and, yes, God totally used that to stretch me and remind me of how truly miraculous a couple of my friendships are. But I totally agree with what you said about the way we view ourselves. I was just thinking of that this morning. Thanks for following God’s leading and calling me out.
