I was so tired of hearing other young women talk about waiting for Prince Charming as if their whole life revolved around the moment he would come and sweep them off their feet. I’ve never been convinced that my single years are meant to be spent searching for my Knight in Shining Armor. So what is this waiting process all about? Or better yet, what is waiting?
Those are the questions that sent me delving into this whole “Beyond Waiting” experience. I found an online dictionary that gave me seven, rather depressing definitions of the word “wait.” It irked me so badly, I decided to write a book. I never dreamed I would one day be blogging about the same subject.
What I’ve learned in my own journey to “Beyond Waiting” is that life is too short to spend it staring at some distant horizon, praying that your prince will come. Sure, he will (most likely) come someday, but since he is coming whether you are waiting or not, why not let him find you having the time of your life in the middle of a dance floor?
Hans Christian Andersen once said that life itself is the most wonderful fairytale. I want to live my life as if I actually believe that. I want to embrace every moment of my life; not just the “significant” things. I pray that, through this blog, you will be encouraged to live every moment of your life as a grand and glorious adventure. I hope to give you a few ideas of how to keep yourself busy while your knight is slaying dragons. May you be able to move “Beyond Waiting” and realize that the true fairytale does not come with the “happily ever after,” but in the “once-upon-a-time.”
